Vinos de Potrero is infused with the theme of football. One of the winery’s founders is former Argentine international Nicolás Burdisso. A “Potrero” is a rough, make-shift football pitch, which Argentines believe is the best place to learn to play the game. Following the idea that the harder the struggle, the sweeter the victory, the vines of Vinos de Potrero must endure hot, dry days and cold nights at a height of 1,350 metres above sea level to yield fruit that makes exceptional wine.
