Karrawatta Sophie's Hill Pinot Grigio
The Gilbert family made their first wine in 1847 and have continued growing wine grapes ever since. Australia’s premiere wine critic James Halliday recognised Karrawatta as a five-star winery in his 2018 Australian Wine Companion, which acknowledges “outstanding wineries producing wines of very high quality”. Karrawatta's Pinot Grigio aims to follow the leaner, drier Italian model to make a wine that is delicate, lifted and versatile. The juice is barrel-fermented in old French barriques and goes through partial malo-lactic fermentation which has resulted in a complex flavour profile and soft, generous mouthfeel.
